The crazy lovers just landed on my knee and did the jiggy. Must be the spontaneous type eh? “Oh look there’s a human! Lets live dangerously and do it in her face, yee ha!”
Me and my big mouth
Right after posting about how I thought monsoon was finally over last Monday, the weather decided to prove me wrong by having thunderstorms _every_ single day! Eek!
Starbuck’s Marble Cheese Cake. It’s ok. but not as good as Coffee Bean’s Blueberry Mousse one that I had. The quest for the perfect cheese cake continues…
So cute! Especially the trio of rosy-cheeked snowmen. it’s like they were posing for the camera!
The early morning empty aisles of Tesco. It’s only my third time at the supermarket, as I hate enduring the traffic to get there. However I still went the other day for…
Roast Chickens! So big and meaty and cheap too! This would be my only reason to stop by Tesco heehee.
My Take on Pride & Prejudice
December 15, 2006 at 4:08 pm | In Recommendations | 3 Comments
After searching high and low around several video stores I’m finally a proud owner of Pride & Prejudice VCD. (The DVD is too expensive.) Many weeks ago I had promised myself the movie only after finishing the book, all I can say is the abstinence had quadrupled my joy and appreciation towards the film when I finally get to see the characters come alive.
The casting was done very well generally, especially Matthew MacFadyen as the tall, dark, and handsome but snobbish Mr. Darcy. He has such a menacing presence in the movie, almost like dracula. Not to mention his expressive pretty eyes, truly captivating. However, I think they could’ve done better with the cast for Mr. Bingley though, I had always pictured him as someone more elegant (no offense to the actor
). Mr. Collins did not fit the book’s description at all but since he’s not a major character it’s not a big issue. On the other hand Keira Knightley was perfect as feisty Elizabeth and I was also looking forward to Judi Dench’s role because I’m a big fan after watching her performance as M in Casino Royale.
The film had mostly stayed true to the book, but I felt like having a heart attack while watching it because the pace was too fast compared to the book. Everything was rushed, which was a real shame. It’s still a great movie by the way, a nice insight of bygone times. On the technical side, I am rather disappointed with the poor image quality of the VCD despite its higher end price tag. Wonder whether the DVD version suffer the same fate? I’m also dumbfounded with the fact that such a remarkable movie did not receive enough publicity and recognition it deserves when it was aired in cinemas last time. If it weren’t for Sam, I wouldn’t have paid the book any attention at all!
Lastly, the score: 9.5/10. A must watch if you have the chance, and if you like the distinctive old style language =) The ending almost killed me by the way for being so damn romantic! Sigh… ![]()
I Have A Life!
December 11, 2006 at 4:27 pm | In Rants | 3 CommentsI used to be very active in online forums back in the days when I was very into online gaming to discuss issues of all sorts. One thing that irritated me was when people said defensive things like, “I have a life, I don’t have time for bla bla bla” with an insulting tone usually when they are losing in a heated debate. By doing this they are implying other people who were regular posters do not have a life which obviously was not even true most of the time. So I’ll usually butt in and post up a reply saying other people have so-called lives too, it’s just that they manage their time better. That usually shut them up. Gosh I can’t stand those holier-than-thou attitude, glad all that’s over now since I don’t play online games anymore.
Just a rant because I recently saw the immature I-have-a-life thingy again in The Star Citizen’s Blog. Bleh.
Collage!
December 7, 2006 at 1:14 pm | In General | 5 CommentsIt’s about time for another collage eh? These are rather outdated unfortunately, oh well, better than nothing

No more dull grey skies, no more thunder storms! Yay!
Took quite an amount of effort to climb all the way up, but since I had the place to myself it was very worth it. Felt like a queen overlooking her territory heehee.
Blueberry mousse cheese cake by Coffee Bean. Among the nicest cheese cake I’ve ever tasted but still doesn’t have enough cheese taste for my satisfaction. Hence the quest for the perfect cheese cake continues!
Christmas fever has started, dog plushes adorned with scarfs are so cute. Same goes to other santa hat wearing soft toys
Don’t really remember why I was there for, but I spent a whole two hours at the clinic that day.
I lost my balance and almost fell in the coach the other day but was caught by some commuters in time. Some of the KTM trains are in dire need of better bracing facilities for standing commuters ![]()
